"We ordered our table from Hayley and Eddie after buying a cheeseboard from them at Abingdon Craft Fair. We were impressed by the quality and asked if they could make a table for us. Eddie spent time choosing the right wood and consulted us every step of the way. The finished product actually took our breath away. He had formed it into the most beautiful piece of art we have ever seen! The fact it was a table was even better. He even timed the completion of it just days before our wedding anniversary as the leg had our marriage date embossed into it along with our names. His prices were more than fair as we had shopped around and it represented not just value for money, but better than all the competition we had seen. I cannot recommend them enough. First class job. Garden Table

Conkers (Hayley and Eddie) were an absolute delight to work with. They created a beautiful table out of a single piece of sycamore and Eddie 'engineered' metal legs to support the considerable weight of the wood. Their enthusiasm for the quality of beautiful wood was inspiring and they were prepared to be experimental in creating something truly original and unique. Eddie's craftsmanship is rare and stunning and it has been an absolute joy to work with them both on the creation of our fabulous new table.

Our beautiful oak anthropometer is up. These are my favourite knots & knobles & cracks (totally know my woodworking terminology!!). Made by the amazing @conkerswoodandmetalcrafts. Sadly I appear to be shrinking. And the small one is refusing to be measured!

The Boswell Anthropometer

We saw Eddie Priscott’s display at the Abingdon Craft Fair in November last year. We were immediately taken with a set of three stools that were made out of single plank of oak, with a natural crack in the wood filled with a blue resin. This colour matched some resin used in a piece of ceramic art that we had in our open plan kitchen-lounge. We asked Eddie if he could make the three seats into bar stools so that we could sit at our breakfast bar. He made new tripod bases out of metal, with rubber feet to protect our wooden floor. Then we asked him for a fourth stool. All of which was no problem. He and Hayley delivered them one evening, and we have been enjoying them ever since. We would thoroughly recommend him for his abilities, service and price, all of which were excellent.”

When you ask for bespoke furniture, you dream of a piece that will give you pleasure for years to come. For this type of work, you need expert hands, Conkers have that: professional, meticulous and careful hands. But that’s not all, what if the people who make it for you are also the nicest people you can think of. Eddie and Hayley are these people. They are helping me produce a coffee table out of a rough oak slab and I only wish I had more projects to share with them
